WaferTech is committed to being a responsible corporate citizen by improving the quality of life in the community where our employees live and work. Engaging and mobilizing the talents and resources of our employees is the cornerstone of our social responsibility.

Contributing to Our Communities

Since its very beginning, WaferTech has mobilized company resources to help our local communities. We strive to make a difference in the community where we live and work.

WaferTech employees have distinguished themselves as committed and generous volunteers by devoted money, time and efforts to community projects such as, collaboration with the local police department, holiday gift giving and school Advisory Committees just to name a few.

We recognize and help extend the reach of our employees' community involvement efforts through several initiatives including community giving, education and human resources.

Community Giving

Holiday Gift Giving

Regular giving includes, the Christmas "Giving Tree," as well as food and gift donations to local nonprofit organizations.

Food Drives

Throughout the year, we will collect food donations for local residents who are in need.

Share House

One of our favorite charities and the recipient of dunk tank proceeds from our most recent company picnic.

Race For The Cure

Employees participate in Portland's annual race for the cure.

School Partnership

The School Partnership program emphasizes education and community partnerships. What sets WaferTech’s volunteers apart is our long-term commitment and employee-inspired involvement. WaferTech professionals share their skills and career inspiration through many programs in support of local schools. A few examples include:

Math, Science and Technology Magnet Program

WaferTech partners with the Camas High School Magnet program to provide real world examples of science in action to students committed to the fields of math, science and technology.

Students visit our campus, try on clean room garments, and even experience some of the training that our Production Specialists receive.

Camas School District - Annual Auction

WaferTech donates money and items to be auctioned to help the school education foundation.

Job Acquisition Skills (JAS) Program

The JAS program prepares students for-real life job hunting skills. WaferTech professionals provide students with mock interviews, providing feedback and written evaluation in terms of presentation skills, resume format, as well as their attire.

DECA organization

DECA, Distributive Education Clubs of America, is an association of marketing students designed to encourage careers in marketing and business. Students have the opportunity to display their business and marketing skills at regional, state, and national competitions. WaferTech is proud to participate in judging DECA competitions in partnership with Camas High School.

Shahala Middle School - Day Of Service

WaferTech professionals help students learn about wetlands and storm water. This includes performing "hands-on" water monitoring at one of the company's on-site detention ponds. WaferTech also provides school students with informational handouts and environmental pamphlets.

Mock Interviews

Each year, we partner with local schools to provide students an opportunity to experience an interview so that they can be better prepared when entering the workforce.

SEMI Workforce Development Institute

WaferTech hosts 20 high school science and math teachers for two days to educate them about our industry and provide activities that could be used to introduce students to the semiconductor industry.

School Advisory Committee

WaferTech partners with local schools to provide valuable input on how to develop today's students and tomorrow's work force through curriculum guidance, employment forecasts, future required technical and professional skills, and desired work behaviors.
