WaferTech celebrates: National Bring Your Child To Work Day
April 24, 2008
Employees at WaferTech get excited about National Bring Your Child to
Work Day. It’s the day all employees can bring their children to one of the
largest semiconductor manufacturing facilities in the United States.
If
you were there, you would have seen about 150 children listening intently to
an engineer talk about “How WaferTech Makes Fun Things Fun” or you might
have taken a walking tour with a technician to learn about the 1,000,000
square-foot integrated-circuit manufacturing facility located in Camas, WA.
If you were lucky, you would have had your picture taken in a clean room
gown – a gown just like many of their moms and dads wear every day.
“It is wonderful to see busy kids having fun and learning,” said Maria
Petruzelli de Sanchez, who heads the WaferTech Employee Event Committee.
“Our employees are great. After months of preparation to produce displays,
videos, and presentations, we have created a great family day for our
employees.”
The employees also had mock interview questions for the children. One
question was, “Who is your hero?” The most frequent answer children gave?
“Mom” or “Dad” - of course.
