    Job Summary:


    WaferTech, a TSMC Company and the United States largest Foundry of Integrated Circuits is searching for a forward looking, goal oriented and results driven individuals for the role of Equipment Technician in our Implant area.  As an Implant Equipment Technician you are responsible for working on AMAT High Current Implanters 9500, XR80, XR 80 Leap 2, and Quantum 3.  You may also work on other Implanters and RTPs (Rapid Thermal Processors).  You should have AMAT field service engineering experience and/or electrical engineering or Physics background.  Strong hands-on electronics experience and an understanding with the use of common electrical test equipment (i.e. DVM, Oscilloscope) is necessary.  Small signal and high voltage experience is a must and you should be a team-oriented person with an assertive personality and the ability to build rapport with a senior technician group quickly.  Effectively interfacing with Process Engineering and understanding Implanter applications is essential.  Semiconductor background is necessary and you should be flexible and willing to take on all jobs regarding tool ownership, including writing reports, ordering parts, second sourcing, and interfacing with outside vendors. You must be willing and able to work any shift, which include A, B, C, or Monday through Friday.

    Responsibilities:


    • Support and be involved with troubleshooting, maintaining and improving AMAT Implanters and possibly Varian Implanters as well as RTP equipment, components and assemblies.

    • Assist with all tasks related and assigned to the equipment group and possess a willingness to learn new responsibilities as required. 

    • Will be responsible for and have the authority to: 

    1. Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process or quality system.
    2. Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities.
    3. Initiate, recommend and provide solutions, verify implementation of solutions and control further processing or delivery until the deficiency has been corrected
    4. Support the maintenance group responsible for the Hi-Vac equipment (Implanters, RTP etc).
    5. Control area budget.
    6. Perform equipment calibration.
    7. Implement and maintain certification programs.
    8. Implement C.I.P. programs to improve tool reliability and availability.
    • Responsible for tool installation, hook-up and acceptance as applicable. 

    • Evaluate and recommend future equipment purchases and support department goals.

    • Become certified on a variety of tool types. 

    • Support and maintain spare parts inventory. 

    • Parts rebuild room responsibilities.

    Requirements:


    • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to deal across shifts with different types of technicians, engineers and managers constructively.

    • Strong hands-on electronics experience and an understanding with the use of common electrical test equipment (i.e. DVM, Oscilloscope) is necessary. 

    • Reliable and punctual.

    • Strong attention detail.

    • Mechanically inclined.

    • Ability to work can work under pressure in a fast paced semiconductor foundry.

    • Highly proficient with electronics.

    • Willing and able to work any shift assigned.

     

    Years of Related Experience/Educational Preferences:


    • An Associates Degree is required.  A Bachelors Degree in electronics or other technical field, Electronics is preferred.

    • A minimum 3-years experience with AMAT CE experience strongly desired.

    • A minimum 3-years experience with AMAT and/or Varian Implanters is required.

    • Must have the ability to work in the US long-term without VISA sponsorship.
