    Job Summary:


    Responsibilities for the experienced Windows Administrator at WaferTech include maintaining a healthy Windows environment to support a 24x7 enterprise mission critical production environment.   This is an exempt position working a M-F, 8-5 schedule with additional work hours requested at times and will participate in 24x7 on-duty rotations and after hour coverage.  The candidate must carry a pager and will occasionally need to work in a clean room environment.  Our ideal candidate will possess excellent teambuilding and leadership skills and will demonstrate WaferTech's four core values of Integrity, Customer Partnership, Innovation, and Commitment. 

     

    Responsibilities:


    Provide administration for all windows based servers (2000 and 2003) to support a non-stop 24X7 manufacturing environment including:  

    • Hardware installation, setup, configuration, troubleshooting, parts replacement
    • Server build and configuration
    • Server patching, upgrade, performance tuning, backup and restoration
    • Documentation for changes, configurations, system architecture and SOP based on existing document template.
    • Regular monitor on server logs and resources; potential issues identification; proactive actions to maintain high system availability

    Be the primary or backup administrator for the following systems 

    • VMware ESX server and VirtualCenter
    • Exchange 2003/Outlook 2003
    • Domain Administration and Active directory, group policy support
    • DNS, WINS, DHCP
    • IIS, file servers, printer server
    • SMS (SCCM 2007) Server/Client
    • ISA 2003 server/ Websense
    • Symantec Antivirus 
    • SQL Server 2000, 2005
    • Lotus Domino Server

    Take ownership and manage projects and assigned work requests and complete them in a timely manner while providing excellent customer satisfaction.  

    Partner with applications teams to provide server recommendation for their application projects, deliver and maintain a robust infrastructure environment. 

    Partner with IT Helpdesk team to provide excellent computing experience for end users. 

    • Develop policies, procedures and solution deployment plans and provide guidance to IT Helpdesk team for desktop/laptop management.
    • As a tier 2 support for issues escalated from IT Helpdesk
    • Be a backup for IT Helpdesk

    Research, evaluate and test hardware, software and solutions to improve existing infrastructure; prepare technical specifications and PR for purchase; 

    Manage H/W, S/W inventory  

    Drive continuous improvement by recording system issues, support calls, analyzing repeating issues, collecting data, providing solution, automating processes to avoid human error.  

    Provide 2nd tier system administration, including backup/recovery, for manufacturing system computers based on DOS/Windows 95/98/2000/XP in clean room environment.

    Requirements:


    Required Technical Skills:

    • Strong expertise with Microsoft solution: Windows 2000/2003 Server, IIS, Active Directory, SQL Server 2000, SMS 2007, ISA 2003, DNS, WINS, DHCP, account management, group policies.

    • Expertise with server platforms

    • Experience in virtual environment

    • Expertise in system backup /recovery

    • Expertise in windows based desktop OS: DOS, windows 95/98/2000/XP

    • Strong research, trouble shooting skills

     Desired Technical Skills

    • Server platform: HP Proliant DL series, IBM servers

    • Virtual environment: VMware ESX server and VirtualCenter

    • Experience with Scripting, ASP, web development

    • Experience with HP/Microsoft Clustering

    • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint deployment

    • Email Archiving

    • Experience with Vista Migration

    • Experience with Lotus Domino server administration

    Years of Related Experience/Educational Preferences:


    • Bachelors Degree required.  IT related field preferred.

    • Minimum of 5 years Windows Server administration experience in enterprise environment.
